Nomadic Roots Herbal’s mission is to deepen our understanding of the natural world through a unique blend of science, discovery, and tapping into the wonder of our intuitive knowing. Gatherings are built on a foundation of botany, materia medica, herbal history, & folklore to paint a detailed picture of plants as part of our community rather than a commodity. Moving around a lot as a kid, I took solace in the outdoors and fell down a rabbit hole of botanicals every time I had a new place to explore. I was called from an early age to work with the plants, and now I have the honor of sharing the joy of flora with others. I’m so happy you’re here.

Monthly Weed Walks
From April-November
Join me for a walk to see what’s growing on in your own backyard. We’ll discuss in season beneficial freeloaders aka weeds, focusing on identification, safe foraging practices and how to transform our discoveries into food and medicine.
These walks are always different depending on the location and time of year so there’s always something new to learn! Walks are offered all over the Triangle, the information and pace are curated to the attendees and usually run 1 hour.
Discovering Herbal Allies
Herbal allies are plants that become our partners while walking through life. Whether it be an illness, a heartbreak, depression, or insomnia etc. Herbal allies step in and join us on our journey sometimes for a short spell and sometimes for entire chapters of our lives. Discovering our herbal allies can be a fun and sometimes profound process. In this workshop we will discuss different ways to tap into your intuition, through a variety of creative exercises, connecting with your own herbal lineage, and many samples of delicious tea to better discover which plants are calling you to work with them.
Salve Making
Easy to make using just a few ingredients, herbal salves can be used to heal, soothe, or improve various skin irritations and conditions. In this workshop you will make 2- 1 oz tins of herbal salves, learning two different techniques. We will discuss sustainable and responsible wildcrafting, and other ways to ethically source herbs for medicine. All materials will be supplied and factored into the cost.
Natal Chart Blends
This in-depth workshop will allow you to become acquainted with your unique astrological profile beyond just your sun sign. A birth chart is like a celestial picture of the relationship between you and the positions of the planets when you were born. Using your birth chart as a guide, we’ll find the perfect plant allies for your optimal wellness. Working with these energetic patterns, we can see what elements and signs are dominate in your birth chart, and areas that are unbalanced. Combining your natal chart, a brief questionnaire and group discussion, we will craft a blend of herbs specifically attuned to your energetic & wellness needs, that still tastes yummy! Beginner astrologers and herbalists welcome!
